Tori's Priorities

Tori Collier will bring a unique perspective to the school board, and her professional and personal history will inform her positions. The most important issues to Tori are based on the idea that every child deserves a safe, accessible learning environment and that every family deserves to be represented in the rooms where decisions about Norman Public Schools are made.

Special education

As a mother of a child with special needs, Tori has seen firsthand the need for advocacy when it comes to Special Education in Norman. Every child deserves someone who will advocate for them and give them every opportunity to thrive in NPS and be as prepared as possible for life after school.

Mental health

Having worked for six years at the State Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Tori knows that mental health must be made a priority for our kids. She knows that meeting the mental health needs of children and families in Norman will lead to the best possible outcomes for our schools and our community.

Giving every child and family a voice

Tori is a dedicated mother of three, with her youngest currently attending Irving Middle School. She understands the importance of ensuring every family’s voice is heard, regardless of which school their children attend. Tori is committed to advocating for every child to receive the highest quality education and opportunities to succeed.

Safety

In this day and age, every parent wants to know their kids are safe at school, and every student wants a safe learning environment. Tori is committed to making sure kids are safe at school physically, mentally, and emotionally.
